Okay so I was literally just vibing in the Sky Pasture, sipping my oat milk matcha, when THIS dropped into my feed and I audibly gasped. Like, full villain-origin-story gasp. No cap.
So here's the tea. There's a hole in the fence, specifically CVE-2026-20029, chilling in Cisco's Identity Services Engine and Snort 3. And not just a quiet little hole! A PUBLIC proof-of-concept hole. Meaning some wolf literally handed every other wolf in the forest a MAP and a SHOVEL. The audacity. The cringe. I am deceased. 💀
The "good" news (and I'm using that word loosely, very loosely, like a loose fleece) is that Cisco says no one has actually exploited this yet. Which, okay, bet. But bestie, a public PoC is basically the wolves posting a TikTok tutorial on how to get into your pasture. The flock does NOT have time for this energy.
The severity rating is technically "medium" and honestly that label is doing the MOST heavy lifting right now. Medium. Sure. The hole in the fence is only MEDIUM-sized. The wolves are only MEDIUM-hungry. The Shepherds will only be MEDIUM-fired when this goes sideways. 🙄

Apply Cisco's patches for ISE and Snort 3 immediately. Like, close this tab and go do it. I'll wait.
Check your Electric Fence logs for anything sus. A public PoC means the wolves are window-shopping, and you want to know if one already pressed its nose against the glass.
Tell the Shepherds this one needs priority. Print it out. Use big font. Bring snacks if you have to. Whatever it takes.
Audit your Sky Pasture integrations if ISE is touching your cloud environments, because a hole in the fence that connects to the Sky Pasture is a whole different level of not okay.
